TAC stands for Transport Accident Commission, a government-owned organisation in Victoria. The (TAC) is dedicated to assisting individuals who have been injured on Victoria’s roads. If you have experienced an injury in a transport-related incident, you may qualify for support from the TAC. This support covers a range of TAC services, including treatment options to aid in your recovery as well as ongoing assistance if your injury is severe, permanent, and requires long-term support.
If you or someone you’re acting on behalf of was involved in an accident caused by a car, motorcycle, bus, train, or tram, and you or they were injured or died as a result of that accident, you are eligible to make a claim for TAC services. This includes pedestrians and cyclists who were injured or died in accidents caused by the driving of a car, motorcycle, bus, train, or tram.
TAC provides financial compensation for medical expenses, income support, rehabilitation, and other related costs for individuals injured in transport accidents.
TAC may provide income support to individuals who cannot work due to injuries.
TAC services cover the cost of medical treatment, rehabilitation services, and therapies required due to the accident.
TAC services may include the costs of travel and accommodation expenses for individuals who need to travel for medical treatment or rehabilitation.
TAC services may include or arrange for attendant care services to assist individuals with personal care and daily activities.
